People will see the results of my training and give me some variation of this line.  Basically, they&#8217;re implying that in order to train like this, I must just <em>like<\/em> doing it more than them, and therefore it&#8217;s just easier for me.  If they were just born <em>liking<\/em> it as much as I do, then they would get the same results as me!  Duh!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Funny thing is, people used to say the same thing about reading to me.  In college, I was known for reading a lot.  I pretty much always had a book with me, and I would read whenever there was down time.  I might read 3-4 books per week outside of the coursework.  And people would say &#8220;I wish I liked reading as much as you do.  I just don&#8217;t like reading very much&#8221;.  Apparently, in order to do anything, you have to be born <em>liking<\/em> doing that thing.  Sad thing is, this is how most people live their lives.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Here&#8217;s a news flash: most of the time, I don&#8217;t like working out!  And I don&#8217;t particularly like reading either.  I just like the benefits of both of those things more than I care about the discomfort.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Do you really think that when I&#8217;m doing a heavy lift, I wouldn&#8217;t rather be sitting on the couch, watching a movie, and drinking a milkshake?  Of course I would because all of those things are very enjoyable in the moment!  I like those things just as much as everyone else.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Training can be extremely difficult and uncomfortable.  It&#8217;s not any easier for me than it is for you.  I just do it anyway.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Of course, there are those days that I want to work out.  But that&#8217;s pretty rare.  Most of the time, I&#8217;d rather be doing pretty much anything else.  But I do things I don&#8217;t want to do because they support my long term goals.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>I get this one a lot.
